Professional statement

Doug Nyenke is a board-certified Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over sixteen years of nursing experience, including critical care, telemetry, and leadership roles. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with ADHD, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, and other mood and behavioral conditions, with a particular focus on complex and developmentally nuanced presentations.

Through his practice at Beverly Psychiatric Services. Doug takes a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to care, addressing not only mental health symptoms but also the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of each individual. He emphasizes a collaborative, team-based model, actively coordinating with therapists, schools, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Doug prioritizes building trust and fostering a supportive therapeutic relationship. During initial evaluations, he carefully reviews prior treatments and current symptoms to develop an individualized plan. For patients new to medication, he provides clear guidance on risks, benefits, and expectations. For those with prior treatment experience, he works collaboratively to optimize or adjust regimens as needed.

He is driven by the goal of helping patients transition from feeling overwhelmed and disorganized to becoming more stable, focused, and empowered in their daily lives. Doug is currently accepting new patients and is dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve meaningful, lasting improvements in mental health.

Message to clients

Starting care can feel like a big step, and my goal is to make that process as comfortable and collaborative as possible for you and your family. In our first session, I take the time to understand your story—what you’ve been through, what’s worked, and what hasn’t. Whether you’re exploring treatment for the first time or have prior experience, we will move at a pace that feels right for you. I believe in being transparent about options, including the benefits and risks of medication, so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

My approach is centered on the whole person—not just symptoms. I consider your emotional, physical, and environmental factors, and I value collaboration with therapists, schools, and other providers when appropriate. You can expect a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported, without judgment.

My hope is that through our work together, you or your child will begin to feel more stable, focused, and in control of daily life. Progress doesn’t happen overnight, but with the right plan and partnership, meaningful change is absolutely achievable.
