Professional statement

Dr. Patience is a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She is trained to diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medications, and provide brief psychotherapy to support individuals experiencing a wide range of psychiatric concerns across lifespan.

Before becoming a PMHNP, she developed a strong interest in psychiatry while working in various clinical settings, including nursing homes, home health, and hospitals. During her clinical rotations, she felt particularly drawn to working with patients with mental health conditions, especially when others were hesitant, which helped her realize that psychiatry was her true passion. After graduating as a registered nurse, she immediately sought employment in a psychiatric hospital, where she worked for five to six years and deepened her commitment to the field.

Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and improving access to care. She has witnessed firsthand how long wait times, sometimes up to six months to see a provider creating barrier for individuals seeking support. These experiences motivated her to pursue an advanced degree so she could provide a higher level of care and create a positive impact on the mental health community.

She collaborates closely with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans and strives to ensure that clients leave every encounter feeling understood, valued, and empowered. Her goal is to equip individuals with tools to cope with daily stressors while walking alongside them on their journey toward healing. She is deeply committed to advocating for patients with mental health conditions and helping them access the care they deserve. Patience offers convenient remote sessions for client across California allowing individual to receive care from the comfort of their homes. For client who prefer in person appointments are offered in Tracy.
