Professional statement

Samirah Bostic, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who provides compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to adults across New Jersey and New York. She works with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, relationship stress, and life transitions. Samirah welcomes clients from all backgrounds and creates an environment where people feel understood, respected, and safe to share their experiences without judgment.

Samirah’s therapeutic approach blends warmth, collaboration, and clinical expertise. She integrates cognitive-behavioral strategies, supportive therapy, solution-focused techniques, and practical coping skills into her medication management sessions. She believes that healing happens through partnership, and she encourages clients to take an active role in shaping their treatment. Her style is patient-centered and empowering, emphasizing confidentiality, openness, and the belief that each person is the expert in their own life.

Her professional foundation includes over eleven years of clinical experience, beginning as a registered nurse at University Hospital’s Emergency Department in Newark. There she cared for individuals experiencing psychiatric crises, a role that strengthened her commitment to mental health and ultimately inspired her to advance her training. After earning her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University, Samirah completed extensive practicum training focused on the management of diverse psychiatric and substance-related conditions, including both individual and group therapy settings.

In 2021, Samirah founded Growth Outpatient Mental Health Services, driven by her dedication to expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care. Her practice provides psychopharmacological evaluations, ongoing medication management, and optional genetic testing to support personalized treatment decisions. She is committed to confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, and meeting each client where they are.

Samirah currently offers telehealth appointments for adults in New Jersey and New York, allowing clients to receive care from the comfort and privacy of their own home.

Message to clients

Starting therapy or medication management can feel like a big step, and my hope is that you feel safe, understood, and supported from the very beginning. When you work with me, you do not have to pretend to be okay or hide parts of yourself. You can show up exactly as you are. My goal is to give you a confidential, nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly about what you’re going through and feel truly heard.

I believe healing works best when we collaborate. You know your life better than anyone, and I’m here to help you understand your symptoms, explore what’s getting in the way, and find practical strategies that improve your day-to-day functioning. Whether we’re discussing medication options, coping skills, or the patterns you’re trying to change, I want you to feel empowered, informed, and in control of your care.

Most of all, I hope our work together helps you feel more grounded, more hopeful, and more connected to yourself. Whether you’re here to find relief, clarity, stability, or a fresh start, I'm committed to meeting you where you are and supporting you every step of the way.
