Sara Foster (she/her) is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner working virtually with clients, aged 12 and older, across Massachusetts. Many of Sara’s clients seek medication management when their symptoms become dysregulating, affecting work and relationships. Sara is particularly passionate about serving her own community, LQBTQIA+, and neurodivergent clients, increasing access to underserved peoples.
Sara is trained in medication management and therapeutic support of all mental health conditions. In session, Sara uses a combination of medication management, DBT, CBT, and motivational interviewing to refine client goals and develop a collaborative treatment plan. This approach empowers clients to make meaningful progress while supported by medication.
Sara’s style is collaborative. When a client first comes in, Sara creates a welcoming, non-judgemental space, meeting the client where they are in life. Sara is dedicated to providing a safe space, fostering trust, and creating a treatment plan that addresses each client's individual needs.
Sara received their Master of Science in Nursing from Northeastern University, working as a Nurse Educator before attending Regis College for a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Psychiatry and Mental Health Nursing. They gained a variety of experience in hospitals, community mental health centers, and private practice focusing on mood disorders and ADHD.
