Zoraya Alvarez Hernandez, PMHNP-BC, Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Advanced Psychiatric Health. She works with adolescents and adults navigating a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and life transitions. Zoraya is especially passionate about supporting individuals who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of where to begin, helping them regain a sense of clarity, stability, and direction in their lives.
Her approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. Zoraya believes that no two patients are the same, and she prioritizes creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where patients feel genuinely heard and understood. She integrates evidence-based psychiatric care with a holistic perspective, working closely with each individual to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their goals, lifestyle, and overall well-being. Her goal is for every patient to feel empowered, supported, and actively involved in their mental health journey.
Before earning her Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry from Walden University, Zoraya spent over 12 years working as a nurse at Community Hospital in Miami, Florida. Her experience across multiple medical units provided her with a strong clinical foundation and the ability to care for patients during some of their most complex and vulnerable moments.
Zoraya provides care through Advanced Psychiatric Health, where she offers both in-person and telehealth appointments to accommodate a variety of patient needs and schedules. She is committed to making mental health care accessible and approachable, ensuring patients feel comfortable seeking support in a way that works best for them.
Outside of her professional role, Zoraya enjoys spending time with her family, exploring national parks, and staying active with her dogs—activities that help her maintain balance and bring the same sense of grounding and presence into her work with patients.
