Professional statement

Connor Champion, MD, CST, is a board-certified psychiatrist and somatic sex therapist who works with adults struggling with mental health concerns, as well as, sexual and trauma related issues within one integrated clinical practice. He treats mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, complex grief, and insomnia. He helps individuals who feel disconnected from their bodies or sense of desire and meaning or those stuck in confusing or maladaptive relational or sexual patterns. He specializes in compulsive sexual behaviors, sexual trauma, and insecurities around sex, intimacy, and body image. He has extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals.

With expertise in psychiatry, trauma & sex therapy, and somatic modalities, he provides a deeply specialized approach to whole person healing. His practice is well suited for individuals seeking depth-oriented work rather than quick fixes driven by symptom checklists. He is especially attuned to the ways shame and early attachment wounds shape behavioral patterns. His style is collaborative, direct, and thoughtful, creating space for both emotional depth and practical change. His approach supports clients in moving toward a more authentic, embodied, and empowered way of living.

Dr. Champion’s professional background bridges conventional psychiatric training with specialized education in sex therapy and trauma modalities. He has over a decade of clinical experience providing psychiatric care and psychotherapy to adults. He is an AASECT certified sex therapist and a certified integrative psychiatrist through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. His advanced therapeutic training includes Somatic Experiencing and EMDR.

His practice, Eros Psychiatry and Sex Therapy, is fully virtual and serves clients in Arizona, California, Colorado, and Texas. Services include psychotherapy, psychiatric medication management, or a combination of both. The practice is private pay only with superbills available upon request. Controlled substances are not prescribed. Sessions are conducted through a secure telehealth platform.

What is sex therapy?

I approach sex therapy as work that goes far beyond having a better sex life. In essence, sex is closely tied to our sense of vitality. And sex therapy, at its core, is about healing one’s relationship to desire, intimacy, and pleasure. This therapy invites clients to examine how early experiences and past wounds shape the way they show up in their bodies and relationships with themselves and others. When seen in this context, sex therapy becomes a process of reclaiming the capacity to feel fully alive and connected.
