Welcome. I’m Dr. Joseph Kaizer, a UCLA-trained psychiatrist and the founder of Mindful Practice Psychiatry.
I help adults and teens who feel stuck, whether in cycles of anxiety, depression, trauma, or emotional overwhelm, find clarity, stability, and confidence through thoughtful, individualized psychiatric care.
My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and mindfulness-based therapy. I partner closely with each client, taking time to understand your values, goals, and challenges so that treatment is not only effective, but also meaningful.
Before becoming a psychiatrist, I cared for a close family member during a mental health crisis. That experience shaped my deep respect for this work. I know how important it is to feel seen and supported, not just during appointments, but in between them as well. I prioritize responsiveness, continuity, and accessible care.
I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments and provide a free 15-minute phone consultation to help you decide if this feels like the right fit.
