Professional statement

Abby’s therapeutic approach is humanistic, strength-based, relational, and client-centered. With warmth and curiosity Abby finds joy in supporting clients in processing significant events, establishing personal goals, exploring meaning and identity, healing from trauma, and cultivating self-compassion.

In her practice Abby uses elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT,) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT,) Depth Psychology, art therapy, trauma-informed approaches, and psychodynamic modalities to provide a holistic and eclectic approach that is individualized for every client. Abby is passionate about joining with clients in shedding light on themes and patterns as a means of increasing understanding and self-awareness.

Abby received her Bachelor's degree in Theater Performance in 2010 and her Master's degree in Psychology with a Marriage & Family Therapy focus in 2015. She is enthusiastic about integrating both her art and science backgrounds into her clinical practice.

While her clinical background is working within the LGBTQ+ community, Abby welcomes folks of all gender identities and sexual orientations into her practice.

Abby is happy to offer free phone consultations for prospective clients, and offers both virtual and in-person sessions in San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood.
