Professional statement

Akira Stuckey is a licensed mental health counselor who offers depth-oriented psychotherapy informed by Jungian and relational perspectives. She works with adults who feel overwhelmed, emotionally tired, or somewhat disconnected from themselves—especially those who spend much of their lives caring for others, such as healthcare providers, therapists, educators, parents, and adult children. Many of her clients are thoughtful and compassionate people who have learned to place others’ needs first while gradually losing touch with their own inner life.

Her work gently attends to the deeper patterns, emotions, images, dreams, and relationship experiences that shape how a person understands themselves and the world. Together with her clients, she listens for the meaning carried within symptoms, longings, and life transitions. Rather than focusing only on symptom relief, she supports a gradual movement toward balance, authenticity, and a fuller sense of inner wholeness. This depth-oriented approach often resonates with people who feel drawn to reflection, symbolism, and lasting inner change.

Akira earned her Master’s degree from Antioch University New England and holds certifications in Jungian life coaching, yoga, and interpersonal hypnotherapy. Her style is person-centered and strengths-based, and she is committed to creating a therapy space that feels safe, respectful, and genuinely welcoming.

Message to clients

Over time, we each develop familiar ways of seeing the world, responding to experience, and relating to ourselves and others. These patterns are shaped by many influences—early relationships, emotional experiences, culture, and the need to adapt in order to feel safe and connected. What once helped us survive can gradually become the lens through which we experience both our inner life and our relationships.

I don’t see these patterns as mistakes. They are thoughtful and creative ways the psyche protected us. Yet ways of being that once kept us safe can later feel confining, leaving us disconnected from vitality, authenticity, or meaningful connection. Many people reach a point when survival is no longer enough and begin to sense a quiet longing for peace, balance, depth, and a fuller sense of wholeness. Even in moments of feeling stuck, the possibility for growth is already present.

In our work together, I listen closely for the meanings carried in emotions, images, dreams, and life transitions. This process unfolds through reflection, curiosity, and compassion rather than quick solutions. I tend to work best with people who feel ready for sincere self-exploration, often those who have already spent time in therapy or personal growth. Together, we clarify direction and support a life that feels more truly your own.
