I have 9 years of experience supporting mental health in a variety of roles. After a 15-year corporate career, at age 43 I decided to pursue my authentic purpose: I love supporting & guiding individuals who are seeking insight and change in their lives as they pursue the healing, self-direction and connectivity needed to build a life that has meaning and value to them. I began practicing psychotherapy in 2022. Educated and trained at Boston University and Columbia University, I’m a certified trauma specialist (Arizona Trauma Institute) and I’m certified in EMDR. I've previously held roles at the University of Rochester Medical Center, the University of Chicago Medical Center, and other mental health & substance abuse treatment settings.
You will feel heard. You will feel seen. But this isn’t just about support - it’s about healing. You can expect calm, steady, compassionate support and gentle but firm guidance while I accompany you in achieving or regaining healthy self-direction. Healing is what will set you free to reach your goals. Healing requires us to accept the truth. When something painful happens, our minds do exactly what they’re designed to do - protect us - but often via defense mechanisms that lead us to avoid or disregard the truth about our experiences and our choices. The transformational change necessary to heal requires full self-awareness and acceptance of the truth. So part of my job is to make it safe for us to tell each other the truth.
It usually takes an investment of 18-24 sessions to facilitate transformative change, and in some cases as few as 10 sessions. Long-term treatment is also available. Once I’ve listened to what you’re experiencing, I can make a recommendation and you can decide what you will do.
