Professional statement

On the outside, you look like you have it together. You’re responsible, thoughtful, and capable. You care deeply about doing well in school, sports, friendships, or work.

But on the inside, it’s exhausting.

Perfectionism can feel like a constant pressure to get everything “right.” Maybe you overthink small mistakes for hours. Maybe you procrastinate because you’re afraid it won’t be good enough. Maybe you set impossibly high standards and still feel behind. For some teens, perfectionism shows up as anxiety, panic, irritability, shutdown, or feeling never quite satisfied, no matter how much you achieve.

I specialize in working with preteens, teens, and young adults who struggle with anxiety-driven perfectionism and the fear of not being good enough. Together, we work to understand where that pressure comes from and how it’s impacting your nervous system, your confidence, and your relationships.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. I don’t believe perfectionism is about “trying too hard.” Often, it’s a protective strategy — your nervous system’s way of trying to stay safe, accepted, or in control. In our work together, we focus on:

Reducing anxiety and overthinking

Building emotional regulation skills

Increasing flexibility and self-compassion

Learning how to tolerate mistakes without spiraling

Separating your worth from your performance

For clients who feel constantly “on edge,” stuck in overdrive, or overwhelmed by stress, I also incorporate Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS). This gentle, non-invasive approach supports the brain in shifting out of chronic fight-or-flight states, which can reduce the intensity of anxiety, rumination, and burnout.

My goal is not to take away your drive or ambition, it’s to help you feel freer, more confident, and less controlled by fear. You can still care about doing well without feeling crushed by it.

If you’re tired of the pressure and ready to feel more at ease in your own mind, I’d love to connect.

Message to clients

I work from a strengths-based perspective, which means I don’t see anxiety, perfectionism, procrastination, shutdown, or big emotions as flaws. Often, they’re protective patterns your nervous system developed for a reason. Together, we’ll get curious about what’s underneath those patterns and build tools that help you feel more steady, flexible, and confident.

Sessions may include conversation, practical coping strategies, nervous-system regulation skills, and when appropriate, Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS). LENS is a gentle, non-invasive approach that supports your brain in shifting out of chronic stress states like overthinking, panic, emotional reactivity, or feeling stuck. It can be especially helpful if you feel overwhelmed but struggle to explain why.

Above all, I believe growth happens through connection — not pressure. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start. Whether you’re feeling burned out, constantly on edge, stuck in perfectionism, or just tired of carrying so much internally, therapy can be a place to exhale and begin building a different relationship with yourself.

If you’re ready to feel less overwhelmed and more grounded in who you are, I’d love to connect.
