Professional statement

Aparna Natarajan works with adults navigating trauma, identity, and life transitions, supporting them in understanding their experiences and building a more grounded and meaningful sense of self. She has experience working with individuals managing anxiety, depression, PTSD, family and relationship challenges, intimate partner violence, and the impacts of complex trauma. Many of the individuals she works with are navigating high expectations, internal pressure, and questions around identity and self-worth.‍

During her training, Aparna worked in both community-based and hospital settings, providing trauma-informed care to diverse populations, including immigrants, refugees, and survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence. Her work is deeply informed by her commitment to culturally responsive and trauma-informed care, and she takes an integrative approach, drawing from psychodynamic theory, DBT, CBT, and somatic practices.‍

Aparna approaches therapy as a collaborative and empowering process, helping clients build insight, strengthen coping strategies, and move toward the lives they want for themselves. She believes healing happens within a safe and attuned therapeutic relationship and is committed to creating a space where clients feel seen, understood, and supported.

Message to clients

I work with adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or caught in patterns they do not fully understand. I often work with individuals who are overthinking, feeling emotionally drained, or noticing the same challenges coming up in relationships or daily life. I support clients navigating anxiety, trauma, and relationship concerns, including those balancing cultural expectations, family dynamics, and identity within South Asian, immigrant, and first-generation communities. Together, we work to better understand these patterns, build coping tools, and create meaningful, lasting change.

I offer a warm, collaborative, and insight-oriented approach to therapy. I integrate cognitive and behavioral strategies with a deeper exploration of how your past and relationships shape your present. I also have experience supporting survivors of interpersonal violence through a trauma-informed, culturally responsive lens.

In our work together, I prioritize creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and able to be yourself. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s okay if you’re not sure where to begin. If this resonates with you, message me today for a free 15 minute consultation.
