Professional statement

Ashley Bolella, LCSW, is a therapist who works with individuals seeking a steady, supportive place to slow down and make sense of what they’re going through. Many of the clients she supports are navigating anxiety, burnout, self-doubt, or the feeling of being pulled in too many directions at once. Ashley offers a space where individuals can feel grounded, understood, and no longer alone in the weight they’re carrying.

Ashley’s approach is warm, relational, and intentionally paced. What sets Ashley apart is her ability to blend deep emotional attunement with clear, practical guidance. She has a particular focus on the central nervous system and the neurobiology of stress, trauma, and healing, helping clients understand how their bodies and brains respond to overwhelm and how to gently shift those patterns over time.

With more than fifteen years of experience across school settings, community mental health, and private practice, Ashley brings a broad clinical perspective that helps clients feel both supported and skillfully guided. She is especially attuned to the needs of those who tend to show up strongly for others, individuals who appear steady and capable on the outside yet feel overwhelmed internally. Clients often share that Ashley provides a calm, grounding presence, asks thoughtful questions, and offers insights that help them explore parts of themselves they’ve long ignored or felt unsure how to express.

Ashley offers in-person sessions at her office in West Hartford, as well as telehealth for clients throughout the state. She strives to make therapy approachable, flexible, and collaborative, whether someone is brand new to therapy or returning after time away. Her hope is that clients leave each session feeling more understood, more confident, and more connected to who they are becoming.

Message to clients

If you’re thinking about starting therapy, you might already feel tired of holding things together. You might be functioning well on the outside but feeling worn down on the inside. You don’t have to pretend here. You don’t have to perform, impress, or have a polished story. I’m interested in the real version of you, the one who shows up when you exhale.

In our work, we’ll pay attention to both your emotional world and your nervous system, because the two are always talking to each other. You don’t have to know how to explain what you’re feeling; we’ll sort that out together. My role isn’t to tell you who to be, it’s to help you understand yourself more fully so you can move through your life with less tension and more clarity.

We’ll explore what your mind is saying, but also what your body has been trying to say for a long time. I approach this work with curiosity, steadiness, and a belief that discomfort is often a sign of something important, not something to avoid. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can reconnect with your own capacity, not a place where you feel like you have to meet expectations.

Wherever you’re starting from, we’ll build something meaningful together. I’m honored to join you in this process and to help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that deserve space, care, and attention.
