Professional statement

Ashley Strawther is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Fort Worth, Texas. She focuses her practice on children, parents, and families. Many of her clients are going through transitions and life changes such as new schools, changing routines, shifting roles, welcoming new members, and growing in ways they did not anticipate. For her clients, these changes have brought feelings of anxiety, grief, stres,s and everything in between. Ashley focuses on helping families build stronger connections even during the messiness of change. With the right support and tools, every home can find resilience and joy.

Ashley’s approach is to find honest conversations and practical solutions and strategies. She provides a lot of grace and understanding for children and parents and strives for them to see the strengths to make steps towards change. Her approach is rooted in solution-focused therapy and mindfulness practices. She works to help clients understand that there are strengths and solutions even in seasons when life feels overwhelming. She works to help clients understand their physical response to external stressors, and begin to problem-solve ways to introduce moments of calm, to choose to respond rather than react in the face of change. Ashley understands that every person is an expert in their own life, and with the tools, a person can find solutions to challenges and problems.

Message to clients

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington, earned in 2018. My background in health care goes back even further, giving me the chance to work with children, adolescents, and adults. I care deeply about helping families find the support and tools they need, because mental and emotional health matter at every stage of life. I focus on helping children and families through transitions and unexpected changes. I have experience supporting people with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, finding balance, and adjusting to new situations. My treatments are cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing and mindfulness.
