Professional statement

Beth Katz, LCSW-C, specializes in working with adults (18+) who are facing daily stress, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, life transitions, adjustment disorders, relationship issues, grief and bereavement, among other challenges. With a deep commitment to providing accessible and effective care, Beth offers virtual therapy sessions Monday through Friday, allowing clients to engage in therapy from the comfort and privacy of their own environment.

Beth’s therapeutic approach is rooted primarily in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also integrating Client-Centered Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Mindfulness Practices, and Positive Psychotherapy. She collaborates with clients to identify the root causes of their struggles and works to uncover and release emotions that may be keeping them stuck in patterns of distress. By replacing paralysis and self-doubt with positive, believable messages and healthier behaviors, Beth helps clients build confidence in their ability to manage life’s challenges.

Beth’s therapeutic style is compassionate, collaborative, and empowering. She excels at guiding clients toward reducing stressors, developing self-regulation techniques, improving communication skills, and when applicable, navigating grief and loss. Her approach is tailored to meet each client’s unique needs, with a focus on fostering resilience, self-awareness, and personal growth.

With over 30 years of experience in the field, Beth has worked in various clinical settings, including group private practice, hospital affiliations such as Johns Hopkins, LifeBridge Health (i.e. Sinai), Sheppard Pratt Health, and St. Joseph’s Hospital, as well as in her own private practice. Following the events of 9/11, she received specialized training in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) and provided support to individuals affected by the Pentagon attack and surrounding businesses. Beth’s extensive background enables her to provide informed, effective, and compassionate care to those navigating life’s most difficult moments.

Message to clients

I understand that change can feel overwhelming, especially when it seems like you’ve been stuck in the same patterns, hoping for different results. My ideal client is someone who is ready to break free from those cycles and take meaningful steps toward a better, healthier life. If you're committed to change, I am here to guide and support you every step of the way.

As a hands-on therapist, I bring not only professional expertise but also a deep well of personal experience, allowing me to speak from a place of true understanding and empathy. I know that growth takes courage, and I believe in creating a safe, supportive space where you can share openly, gain new perspectives, and develop the tools needed to move forward.

For those ready to engage in the process, I provide structured guidance, meaningful feedback, and practical strategies to help you reach your goals. If you simply need a compassionate ear, I am here for that too. Whether you seek insight, change, or just someone to listen, I will meet you where you are with warmth, understanding, and unwavering support.
