Professional statement

Brigid Oram is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Los Altos, CA, who offers a warm, compassionate space for healing and personal growth. She specializes in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, distressing life events, or ongoing emotional challenges that may show up as anxiety, sadness, panic, relationship difficulties, or a persistent sense of feeling stuck. Brigid works collaboratively with clients to help them feel more grounded, connected, and fulfilled as they move toward lasting emotional wellbeing.

As a strengths-based therapist, Brigid believes that every person already possesses inner resilience and unique strengths that can support meaningful change. She helps clients better understand their relationships, attachment patterns, and emotional experiences, creating opportunities for deeper self-awareness and healthier connections with others. Her background in psychopharmacology, neuroscience, language-based learning differences, and ADHD allows her to bring a thoughtful, well-rounded perspective to therapy. Above all, Brigid approaches each session through a trauma-informed lens, fostering a safe and supportive environment where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Brigid offers both in-person and virtual sessions and values building authentic, collaborative relationships with her clients. She believes healing happens through connection, curiosity, and compassionate self-exploration, and she is dedicated to helping clients develop the insight and tools needed to create meaningful change in their lives.

Message to clients

Hello, and welcome. I work with adults and adolescents who may be feeling overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, sadness, or challenges in relationships, school, or work. Whether you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or simply not like yourself, therapy can be a space to better understand what’s going on and begin moving toward healing and growth. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself and exploring the challenges you’re facing.

I believe that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Each person’s experiences and needs are unique, so I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to your individual goals and situation. I genuinely enjoy getting to know my clients and working together to build insight, resilience, hope, and practical strategies for navigating life’s difficulties.

I also understand that reaching out to a therapist can feel unfamiliar or even intimidating at first. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have and help you determine whether working together feels like the right fit. There is never any pressure or obligation — and if you’re looking for a different type of support, I’m always glad to help connect you with additional resources. Please feel free to reach out to schedule a time to talk.
