Professional statement

Carrie McConnell is a licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate who works with adults, adolescents and couples navigating grief and loss, trauma and depression among other concerns. She works with those seeking to deepen their connection to themselves and experience life with more joy, freedom and authenticity.

What lead Carrie to this work is what she describes as "a deep reverence for the resiliency of the human spirit". She believes the power for healing and change is present within everyone, though it can’t always be done alone. Her approach is informed by depth and somatic psychology, attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and internal family systems (IFS). Combined with over a decade of her own personal healing work and recovery, Carrie integrates these modalities to guide clients in addressing the root of their symptoms and transforming challenge into opportunities for growth. She takes a holistic approach to psychotherapy and understands trauma healing must also address the body and spirit, not solely the mind.

She offers a compassionate, genuine, nonjudgemental, trauma-informed space to work with client concerns. Her own experience with significant loss has allowed her to guide others through the process in an authentic and genuine way. She is a trained hospice volunteer and certified in traumatic grief through the MISS Foundation’s Compassionate Bereavement Care certification program. Whether you are coping with the loss of a loved one, recovering from trauma, or struggling with depression and relationships, Carrie is committed to fostering resiliency and empowering individuals to find peace and meaning in their lives.

Her office is conveniently located in the heart of Madison Park, close to restaurants, coffee shops and a few blocks from the beach. She also offers appointments remotely by phone or video chat.
