She currently offers both in-person (in Wellesley Hills) and virtual appointments. Dr. Freid's treatment approach is informed by evidence-based treatments (primarily CBT), flexibly applied to best address clients' specific symptoms and long-term goals.

Dr. Freid received her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Vanderbilt University. Additionally, she completed a predoctoral internship at the University of Chicago Medical Center and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders at Boston University.

During her training, Dr. Freid focused on evidence-based assessment and treatment for a wide range of psychological disorders with an emphasis on eating, anxiety and mood disorders. She has also held professional positions at McLean Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she gained additional experience in research addressing issues related to women’s mental and physical health.

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Freid currently has appointments in the Eating Disorders Clinical and Research Program (EDCRP) at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and as part-time Lecturer on Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Message to clients

Hello! Throughout my career, I have been especially interested in the comorbidity (co-occurrence) of psychological symptoms and disorders. For example, people often experience both an eating disorder and anxiety, or anxiety and depression. My goals with you will include identifying and working on common factors that underlie multiple symptoms in order to best address everything you are experiencing. Within this framework, we will develop an individualized treatment plan that best meets your specific concerns and treatment goals.

"I have known Dr. Freid since 2008 when we worked together during our postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders at Boston University. Dr. Freid and I worked on the same research project for treatment of generalized anxiety. During this time, I got to know Dr. Freid professionally very well. One of Dr. Freid’s unique features as a psychologist is that she has significant experience with evidence-based treatments for a variety of disorders, including anxiety disorders, depression and eating disorders. She is a very warm, personable, and empathic person and I refer patients to her who present with a complex combination of eating disorders with other co-morbid disorders."
