Professional statement

Dr. Christopher Waters is a clinical psychologist who provides online counseling and psychological assessments to people looking to make profound changes in their lives. Often counseling mostly consists of the counselor listening, validating, educating, and offering advice. However, Dr. Waters uses psychological treatments that seek to go deeper and create more lasting growth. Thus, he provides treatments such as EMDR that help free people from longstanding traumas that have held them back. He uses Gestalt Therapy to help people identify their inner conflicts and overcome self-sabotage. He practices techniques from IFS Therapy to help people heal the most vulnerable and wound parts of themselves. Or, he offers hypnotherapy to help people overcome long-held habits and fears. Dr. Waters has a variety of tools to help people "dig deep" into their challenging areas and grow wonderfully in their strengths.

Message to clients

I know you have been struggling deeply. Why else would you be looking for a therapist?

You may have deep psychological pain that you can't escape. You may feel stuck in your life with no way to truly change. Your relationships seem to be doomed to the same problems or self-sabotage over and over again. Even if there are good elements of your life, you can sense there is a more abundant life for you to be living.

I work with adults who struggle with overwhelming emotions, confusion, numbness, and invisible wounds. Some of my clients have intense pain trapped in their mind and body, while others feel disconnected from their mind and body. These problems block a person’s connection to meaningful relationships, a strong sense of identity, and using their unique talents. I help clients get to the root of their problems by providing specific psychological tests that uncover their traumas and symptoms. I also use advanced therapy tools that delve deeper than traditional talk therapy. I can help clients remove their reactions to the past and find strengths and resilience they didn’t know was possible. By working together, my clients learn to face their past with a new confidence and walk boldly into a more fulfilling life. My clients recover the broken and empty parts of themselves and those parts begin to brim with excitement, vitality, and joy.

Schedule a free 20-minute initial phone call today to tell me what you are looking to change in therapy.
