Crystal Crim, LPC is a native of Alabama and graduated from Minor High School. Crystal received her Bachelor of Science (Social Sciences) and Master of Education (Counseling and Guidance) from the University of Montevallo. Presently, Mrs. Crim is completing her Doctorate in Counseling, Education, and Supervision from Walden University.
Crystal Crim practices Person Centered Therapy as her primary therapeutic approach, which she calls her “fruit bowl.” This is the approach she uses with all clients as it offers each person unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness. Depending on each clients needs, Crystal will utilize different techniques and tools to support them on their journey. These techniques and tools are the “fruit” within the bowl. Techniques and tools used include Reality Therapy, TF-CBT, trauma narrative, and artistic expression, to name a few.
Crystal sees individuals ages five and up for following issues and needs:
Ages 4 to 13 (In-person only):
-Trauma processing using Trauma-Focused CBT for children and adolescents who have experienced or witnessed any form of primary or secondary abuse or trauma, including physical, sexual, emotional, verbal, and mental abuse.-Evaluation and assessment of mental health concerns-IEP/504 Assessments and Support
Ages 14 and Over (In-person and Telehealth available):-Evaluation and assessment of mental health concerns-IEP/504 Assessments and Support-Developing healthy communication and boundaries-Emotional assessment, regulation, and expression-Relationship and family stressors and stress management

Caregiver stress & support - Coping with anxiety, stress, fatigue, and burnout related to caring for a loved one; balancing the needs of others with one's own needs and health
Medical professionals' mental health - Support navigating work-related expectations and stress; addressing issues of burnout, hierarchical pressures, and vicarious trauma
Relationship issues - Understanding one’s wants and needs in relationships; exploring patterns of interaction, addressing concerns, and strengthening satisfaction in relationships and dating
Work stress - Managing overwhelming stress and expectations; increasing effective ways of restoring and maintaining emotional stability and health; addressing challenging relationships with coworkers and bosses
Childhood trauma - Learning how traumatic events in childhood can translate into adulthood; processing through difficult memories with the goal of moving past the experience and lingering symptoms
Life purpose & meaning - Exploring one’s beliefs and values around life purpose, meaning, and spirituality; addressing the barriers to living a life that feels fulfilling, including instigating change or developing new habits
