Professional statement

Damon Neely is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and U.S Marine Corps veteran with 20 years of health care experience. He specializes in working with young adult and middle aged men struggling with men’s issues including; perfectionism, unrealistic expectations, feelings of failure, imposter syndrome, inadequacy, self-hatred, low self-worth, empathy, emotional intelligence, unexplored values, relational issues, identity, fatherhood, stoic aspirations, lack of purpose, and quarter-life & mid-life crisis.

Damon’s practice “Join the Rebellion Inc.” is fully remote. He provides therapy for high-functioning adults navigating anxiety, burnout, and self-worth. His approach is integrative, combining insight-oriented and practical therapies. Drawing from psychodynamic and existential perspectives, you will explore the deeper patterns, early experiences, and internal narratives that shape your sense of self and self-worth. At the same time, Damon incorporates structured, evidence-based strategies from CBT and solution-focused therapy to help you shift unhelpful thinking patterns and make meaningful, tangible changes in your daily life. Throughout the work, Damon will maintain a person-centered foundation—creating a space that is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and grounded in genuine understanding.

Message to clients

You may be someone who appears capable and put-together on the outside, yet internally feels overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected. Many of the clients I work with are high-functioning adults who struggle with anxiety, overthinking, burnout, or a persistent sense of self-doubt—even when life “looks fine” on paper. Often, this is connected to deeper patterns around self-worth—feeling like you have to constantly perform, achieve, or hold things together, while being overly critical of yourself internally.

Therapy with me is not just about symptom relief—it’s about developing a more stable and internal sense of self-worth, along with clarity, emotional awareness, and the ability to respond to your life with more intention. Clients often come away with:

-A more grounded and less conditional sense of self-worth

-Reduced anxiety and self-criticism

-Greater insight into recurring emotional and relational patterns

-Increased confidence in decision-making and direction

-Practical tools they can actually use outside of sessions

I tend to be a strong fit for individuals who are thoughtful, motivated, and open to both exploring deeper patterns and developing a more stable sense of self.
