Dr. Dianna McFarlane, a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland and Washington, DC, specializing in trauma-informed care through the lens of attachment theory and EMDR therapy. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking to understand how early life experiences—and even generational patterns—may be influencing their current emotional struggles, relationships, or sense of identity.
With over two decades of clinical experience, my approach is rooted in the belief that healing begins when we make sense of our past in order to reclaim the present. Whether you're feeling stuck in anxiety, navigating grief or loss, or struggling in relationships, I provide a warm and structured therapeutic space where we can uncover the roots of those patterns together.
I integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process unresolved trauma and reduce the emotional intensity of past memories. My work is guided by attachment theory, helping clients develop healthier internal models of connection, safety, and self-worth.
Clients often describe me as insightful, compassionate, and grounded. My goal is to help you move beyond survival mode and into a life that feels more connected, empowered, and authentic. Healing is possible—and it starts with understanding how your story has shaped you, and how we can write the next chapter together.
