Dixie Soghoian (she/her) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working in private practice. She splits her week between offices in the Flatiron district and in Brooklyn Heights, and is also available for remote telehealth therapy. She provides trauma-informed, evidence-based and multicultural counseling to individuals of all ages. With enthusiasm and care, she creates safe emotional spaces of exploration, understanding, attunement and healing.
Through their work with Dixie, patients have enjoyed deeper and more rewarding connections to themselves and their loved ones. She's had success treating depression, anxiety, trauma and relationship issues, using each person's inborn capacity for resilience, growth, play, openness and insight.
In her training, Dixie worked as a psychiatric intern at the adult inpatient unit of Lenox Hill Hospital, and later as a clinician with a practice called Dwellness, where she worked in-home with children, adolescents, couples and families who had a wide range of psychological profiles and therapeutic needs.
Dixie completed post graduate training at the Stephen Mitchell Relational Study Center, and most recently studied the work of Donald Winnicott at Boston College's Center for Psychological Humanities & Ethics. She is a native New Yorker, and enjoys embroidery and dancing.
