Professional statement

Gabriella Ruocco is a bilingual (English and Spanish) integrative psychotherapist and trauma sensitive yoga teacher (RYT 500) who is passionate about supporting individuals of all ages in reclaiming their power and breaking free from oppressive systems and cycles. With over a decade of experience in community and mental health settings around the world, Gabriella brings a deep appreciation for the vast uniqueness and shared universality the human experience. Her therapeutic approach weaves together evidence-based modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), alongside holistic practices including somatic exercises, Reiki, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), acupressure, and meditation. Grounded in compassion, her work is anti-oppressive, strengths-based, and culturally responsive.

She honors the truth that some may find clarity through talk therapy, while others may connect more deeply through mindfulness, yoga, somatic awareness, or breath work. With a strong background in sexual health and social-emotional education, Gabriella supports clients in building body awareness and autonomy. She believes that providing young people with the tools to feel safe and empowered in their bodies and minds not only strengthens boundary setting and self connection, but also fosters prevention of harm. She emphasizes the importance of open, age-appropriate conversations about sexuality and identity across the lifespan.

As a trauma-informed provider, Gabriella is committed to meeting each client where they are—with empathy, respect, and attunement to their unique journey of healing, self-expression, and growth.

Message to clients

Connecting with your mind and body can feel overwhelming, but entering a therapeutic space where you feel safe, seen, and supported can serve as a powerful foundation for healing and restoration. You are invited to explore and express yourself in ways that feel authentic and aligned, at a pace that honors your comfort.

Therapy may involve a range of experiences—from insight-oriented conversations and psychoeducation to movement, breath work, or meditation—depending on your needs in that moment. Whether holistic practices are already part of your routine or are entirely new to you, this is a space where your autonomy is respected. You are offered to engage with diverse therapeutic tools in ways that support your unique healing process.

The therapeutic relationship itself can become a foundation for exploring how larger systems, such as oppression, systems on inequality, trauma, or social expectations—impact your daily experience. By acknowledging these power structures, we can begin to make sense of your story within the broader context of the world you navigate. After each session you can be offered a specific practice, such as a personalized meditation or somatic practice to integrate before the next session.

Above all, this is a collaborative process . You are given options and are welcome to interact with practices that call to you.
