Professional statement

Jackeline Goncalves, LICSW, is a compassionate therapist who works with college students, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and other life stressors. She helps clients create meaningful change through mindset shifts, supporting them in building resilience, managing symptoms, and achieving personal and professional goals. By focusing on each client’s strengths, she empowers them to overcome obstacles and develop practical coping strategies tailored to their individual needs.

Jackeline’s therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), blended with mindfulness practices to support emotional regulation and increase self-awareness. She also incorporates clinical hypnotherapy as part of her therapeutic approach to help clients create deeper and more lasting change. Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention and relaxation that allows the mind to become more receptive to positive suggestions and healthier patterns of thinking.

Her work also integrates the belief that mindset plays a powerful role in personal growth. Her motto, “Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life,” reflects her commitment to helping clients build confidence, shift unhelpful patterns, and move toward the life they want.

Jackeline earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Walden University in 2019 and founded Healing Body and Mind Therapy after obtaining her independent license. She offers therapy exclusively through a virtual format, increasing accessibility for clients. She is also bilingual in Cape Verdean Creole, allowing her to better support members of the Cape Verdean community.

Jackeline is also a SAP-certified clinician, providing evaluations and guidance for individuals regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) who have violated drug and alcohol testing regulations.

Message to clients

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s normal to feel unsure about where to begin. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in certain patterns, or going through a difficult transition, you’re not alone. My goal is to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

In our work together, we will focus on identifying your strengths and building practical tools to help you manage challenges more effectively. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and clinical hypnotherapy to support meaningful and lasting change. Hypnotherapy can help access deeper patterns of thinking and support the development of healthier behaviors and emotional responses.

I believe that mindset plays a powerful role in shaping our lives. My approach focuses on helping you shift unhelpful thought patterns, build resilience, and develop greater confidence in your ability to navigate life’s challenges. Whether you are working through anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, or other stressors, we will work together at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for you.

Reaching out for support is a courageous step. If you’re ready to begin your journey toward greater balance, clarity, and personal growth, I look forward to working with you.
