As a South Asian woman and immigrant, she brings a deep understanding of the complexities involved in navigating multiple, often conflicting, identities. She is especially attuned to the experiences of those seeking spaces where their whole story can be seen, held, and honored. Her clients include survivors of trauma and abuse, immigrants, and BIPOC communities, as well as individuals navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, relational concerns, substance use, and life transitions. She is particularly passionate about supporting those unpacking the emotional and psychological effects of intergenerational trauma and internalized cultural or familial narratives—helping clients understand how these forces shape self-esteem, self-image, and relationships.
Her therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, relational, and skill-based, integrating psychodynamic theory, emotionally focused therapy, and attachment-based frameworks. She views relationships, both past and present, as powerful forces that influence how people move through the world, and she believes that healing happens through connection. Her work often incorporates somatic awareness, attending to how emotions and trauma are stored in the body, as well as Narrative Therapy to help clients reclaim their stories from the grip of external expectations and systemic oppression. Alongside insight-building, she places strong emphasis on practical skill-building, supporting clients in developing tools for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, boundary-setting, and navigating relational challenges.
Her professional experience spans work with diverse populations, allowing her to hold an inclusive and culturally affirming lens in all her work. She approaches therapy as a collaborative process, prioritizing the creation of a safe, compassionate space where trust can develop at a pace that feels right for each client. Through the co-created therapeutic relationship, she helps clients deconstruct unhelpful narratives, reflect on relational patterns, and cultivate new, compassionate ways of engaging with themselves and others.
She offers both virtual and in-person sessions at her office near Grand Central.
