Professional statement

Jeff Jones is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Counselor Supervisor based in Fort Worth, TX, specializing in traumatic grief, religious trauma, and psychedelic integration. His practice serves bereaved parents navigating child loss, ex-evangelicals wrestling with spiritual crisis after leaving high-control religion, and individuals integrating profound psychedelic experiences.

Jeff's approach is rooted in lived experience. When his children died, he faced devastating grief and a spiritual crisis his conservative Christian upbringing could not address. His healing journey led him to psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, which transformed his understanding of trauma and recovery. This experience fundamentally shaped his practice and led him to pursue specialized training.

In 2024, Jeff graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research program. He has been a licensed professional counselor in Texas for over 25 years and a counselor supervisor for over 10 years. His therapeutic approach integrates narrative therapy, existential therapy, and mindfulness-based practices, but his most powerful tool is lived experience with the wounds his clients carry.

Jeff offers a space where clients don't have to explain why their grief feels "too big" or why they can't return to church. He understands carrying loss that changes everything, leaving a faith that no longer fits, and making sense of experiences difficult to put into words. His practice is built on compassion, authenticity, and the belief that the deepest wounds require a therapist who has walked the path themselves.

Jeff provides telehealth services throughout Texas. He accepts most major insurance plans including United, Cigna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Aetna, and works with Alma and Headway for billing support

Message to clients

If you've lost a child, left your church, or had a profound psychedelic experience that changed you, I understand in a way that goes beyond professional training. When my children died, I lost not just them but my identity, my faith, and my sense of who I was in the world. The grief was unbearable, and my conservative Christian community offered platitudes that rang hollow. I faced a spiritual crisis as devastating as the loss itself.

My healing journey led me to psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, which gave me tools and perspectives that traditional therapy alone couldn't provide. That experience transformed my life and my practice. I'm not sharing this to make my story the focus—I'm sharing it so you know that when you sit with me, you're sitting with someone who has been in the depths and found a way through.

My hope for you is not that you'll "get over" your loss or "move on" from your pain. My hope is that you'll learn to carry your grief with grace, rebuild an identity that feels authentic, and integrate your profound experiences into a life that has meaning. Healing doesn't mean forgetting—it means learning to live again. You don't have to face this alone, and you don't have to explain yourself to me. I get it. Let's talk.
