Jenna Nielsen is a licensed clinical social worker based in a virtual office; she works with adults of all ages. Many of Jenna’s clients come in to address performance anxiety, attention and focus issues, trauma, life transitions, and chronic physical illness. Jenna is particularly enthusiastic about serving athletes. She also has advanced training in anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and depression.
Jenna is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) in which we examine your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors in order to see if they are helping you work toward or goals, and if not try to shift them to being more effective. In session, Jenna focuses on mindfulness, breathing, and emotion regulation tools. This approach supports clients to be able to focus more effectively and be more productive with a calm presence.
Jenna's style is engaging, goal-oriented, and non-judgmental. When clients first start therapy, we will work to understand the client's past history and set goals together.
Jenna received their Master of Social Work from University of South Florida. She has worked as a metal health therapist since her MSW internship, where she worked as an outpatient mental health therapist who provided CBT to adults with many different diagnoses. She offers only tele-health appointments, which allows for flexible scheduling.
