Professional statement

Jenna Nielsen is a licensed clinical social worker based in a virtual office; she works with adults of all ages. Many of Jenna’s clients come in to address performance anxiety, attention and focus issues, trauma, life transitions, and chronic physical illness. Jenna is particularly enthusiastic about serving athletes. She also has advanced training in anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and depression.

Jenna is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) in which we examine your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors in order to see if they are helping you work toward or goals, and if not try to shift them to being more effective. In session, Jenna focuses on mindfulness, breathing, and emotion regulation tools. This approach supports clients to be able to focus more effectively and be more productive with a calm presence.

Jenna's style is engaging, goal-oriented, and non-judgmental. When clients first start therapy, we will work to understand the client's past history and set goals together.

Jenna received their Master of Social Work from University of South Florida. She has worked as a metal health therapist since her MSW internship, where she worked as an outpatient mental health therapist who provided CBT to adults with many different diagnoses. She offers only tele-health appointments, which allows for flexible scheduling.

Message to clients

Before we begin our work together, I want you to know that this is a space where you are safe to show up exactly as you are. There is no judgment here—only curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to your healing. I understand how hard it can be to take the first step toward support, and I deeply honor your courage in doing so. Wherever you are in your journey, whether you're feeling lost, overwhelmed, or simply ready for something to shift, I will meet you there with openness and care.

My hope for you in this process is not perfection, but progress—however that may look for you. Together, we'll explore the patterns, wounds, and strengths that shape your experience. My role is not to fix you, because I don’t believe you are broken, and to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your own inner wisdom, strength, and sense of self-love.

Before we start, I encourage you to bring your whole self into the room—your doubts, your hopes, your questions. Healing isn't always linear, and it is always possible. You are worthy of the space to heal, grow, and thrive. I'm honored to be a part of that journey with you.
