Professional statement

Jennifer Breslow is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (NY) and Licensed Professional Counselor (PA) offering virtual therapy to adults in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. She works with individuals in their twenties through midlife and beyond who are navigating anxiety, relationship challenges—particularly patterns connected to anxious attachment—the impact of growing up in dysfunctional or emotionally inconsistent families, and grief, including the loss of a pet. Many of her clients are used to holding things together on the outside while internally feeling anxious, self-critical, or unsure of what they need.

Jennifer’s work focuses on helping clients understand the patterns that shape how they relate to themselves and others, so they can feel more grounded, more connected, and less like they have to shrink or adapt in order to stay connected. She often works with individuals who notice themselves repeating relationship patterns, overthinking interactions, or feeling responsible for how others feel, and who are ready to explore these dynamics more deeply.

Her approach is primarily talk-based, while also integrating a mind-body perspective. She is informed by parts work (often referred to as internal family systems), helping clients develop awareness of the different ways they respond in moments of stress or vulnerability. As a trained art therapist, she also offers the option of creative expression in sessions when it feels helpful, though it is always optional.

She offers online therapy sessions, creating a consistent and supportive space for clients across NY, NJ, and PA.

Message to clients

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. You may already have a sense that something isn’t working, even if it’s hard to fully put into words. Often, the patterns that feel frustrating or confusing now once served a purpose—they helped you cope or stay connected in some way. Part of our work is to understand these patterns with more clarity and compassion, rather than judgment.

Many people I work with notice this most in their relationships—feeling unsure where they stand, overthinking interactions, or needing reassurance but still feeling unsettled. Together, we begin to make sense of these experiences and create space for something more steady.

I approach therapy as a collaborative process. My hope is to create a space where you can slow down, explore your experience more fully, and begin to feel more grounded in yourself—so you don’t have to keep holding parts of yourself back in order to manage or maintain connection.

While my work is primarily talk-based, I also offer the option of incorporating creative expression when it feels helpful. Art can provide another way of understanding yourself, especially when something feels hard to access through words alone. It’s always optional, and we can talk through what feels most comfortable for you.

If you’re interested in getting started, you’re welcome to reach out by email to set up an initial consultation. I look forward to connecting with you.

Client testimonials

"I’ve been in therapy in the past and had been doing well on my own for a few years. Then this year, I’ve had quite a few major events that have left me in a really low place. I was able to get an appointment with Jennifer Breslow at a key time in my life, and I’ve already found her help extremely valuable. I’m still figuring out how to feel like myself again, but my sessions with Jennifer have helped me feel like I’ve avoided total rock bottom, and I’m working on building skills to make sure I can lead a more stable life no matter what my situation may be."
