Professional statement

Jessica Clark, LICSW, is a seasoned clinician specializing in supporting adults and adolescents impacted by trauma. She provides both trauma-focused and general psychotherapy, as well as parenting-focused treatment for caregivers. Jessica also welcomes queer-identifying clients into a supportive, affirming, and identity-aware clinical space.

Jessica brings over 15 years of experience serving individuals affected by sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. She facilitated the RI Anti-Trafficking Task Force for four years, created the state’s only intensive clinical program for trafficking survivors (the STAAR Program), and is recognized statewide as a leading expert in clinical treatment for victims of commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC).

Jessica earned her Master’s in Social Work from Rhode Island College. She is trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Critical Incident Desensitization (CID) Protocol, and is an Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA)–Certified Mental Health Specialist.

Grounded in the belief that no single approach works for everyone, Jessica uses a strengths-based, collaborative, and client-driven framework, tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs and goals. She offers in-person sessions in Rumford, RI, as well as virtual therapy for clients in RI and MA.

Message to clients

Deciding to start therapy — and finding the right therapist — can feel overwhelming. Taking that first step toward your goals is a big deal, and it’s completely normal for it to feel a little uncertain. My hope is to make that step feel a bit easier.

I offer a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, so I work from a strengths-based, collaborative perspective. Together, we’ll shape the process around what matters most to you.

You are the expert in your own life. My role is to:

Listen with empathy and genuine care

Provide support and validation

Help you notice and reframe unhelpful patterns

Gently challenge you when it could be helpful

Empower you to move toward the goals you set for yourself

I believe in the inherent dignity, worth, and potential of every person who walks through my door. Whatever brings you here, you deserve support, and I would be honored to talk about how we can work together.

Taking the first step is often the hardest — but healing and growth are truly possible. You don’t have to navigate this alone.
