Professional statement

Jonathan (Jon) Labman, LPC is a mentor, which is (from the Cambridge English Dictionary), "a person who gives a younger or less experienced person help and advice over a period of time." Your healing and awakening as a whole person can only happen when both your left and right brain hemispheres are awakened. (Left brain = normal cultural, egoic functioning.) (Right brain=creativity, curiosity, Transcendence, love, peace, freedom, contentment.) His specialty is to help you with both!

His career in the health professions start in 1992 as a Licensed Massage Therapist, training as an Energy Healer, Counseling Psychologist, and Yoga Meditation Teacher. Jon inhabits the crossroads of psychology and spirituality, has been practicing as a professional counselor since 2000, and gained his license in 2010.

Many of Jon's clients come with "traditional" problems like anxiety, depression or relationship problems, but they often discover their own innate uniqueness is part of the solution that they're looking for. While Jon has all the skills to deal with most psychological "diagnoses," he prefers to label symptoms only when it's helpful for clients. Looking at old patterns formed in old environments helps you to remove obstacles to your goals. Your whole brain needs to wake up, heal, and get integrated. This is the goal of mentoring.

Jon teaches his clients how to deal with being human: challenging negative and untruthful thoughts, using thought purposefully, and tracking the source of emotions. He also works with everyday physical habits that can get in the way (too much coffee, too little sleep, too much doom-scrolling), and teaches clients to look for their own uniqueness.

You can meet Jonathan in his consulting office in Holicong, Pennsylvania (near Doylestown) and/or by Zoom videoconference technology.

Message to clients

If you're unaware of how to live a full actualized human life, then I will teach you the skills not taught in school: how to discern if your own thoughts are true and how to name your emotions and track their sources. Reality-based emotions are energy in motion; they will move you towards positive change.

There is real pain in human life, but there is also unnecessary suffering. I will teach you how to tell the difference! You can actually find out how to make the changes that will empower you to be your own fully unique expression, a "kaleidoscope of color crystals" that only you possess.

I will do a lot of dialog in sessions with you and I will frequently give you practical suggestions to integrate what you're learning in sessions into your actual life. Effective work towards healing and self-actualization includes you gaining insights AND putting them into practice. Most importantly, I look at what's happened to you, not what's wrong with you. Old adaptations you made to your former environments, no longer work AND are preventing you from recognizing your talents and abilities. Together we can uncover the positive attributes of love, contentment, freedom and peace that you already have, and then help you create simplicity, harmony, and clarity in your life. All of those positive qualities are inherent to your nature as a human being. Most people miss their own value. I will help you to recognize it.
