Professional statement

With the innumerable stressors we face living and working in today's world it is only a matter of time before even the most resilient individuals realize that they need some extra help. That’s where therapy comes in.

Julia is a New York-based therapist who specializes in helping high-achieving, high-performing women navigate everyday challenges and major life changes. Her approach is warm, attentive, and solutions-focused. She integrates traditional psychotherapy with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients channel their inner strength, and make positive and desired changes in their lives. Julia helps clients to build emotional resilience — a skill to maintain and strengthen your wellbeing, and more effectively address negative feelings and challenges as they arise. She also focuses on real-time skill-building and problem-solving to address your present concerns.

Julia guides clients in navigating interpersonal and romantic relationships, career growth and change, as well as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem related issues. Julia is especially passionate about helping women navigate work-related stressors such as Imposter Syndrome, Perfectionism, and performance anxiety.

Julia received her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. She trained and worked at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, Julia worked as an Analyst at Morgan Stanley. She brings real world expertise and experience into the therapeutic work.

Julia offers virtual sessions, with daytime and evening availability. Julia recently welcomed an Associate Therapist to her practice who offers more availability and lower-fee session rates.

Message to clients

We know what it’s like to be the person who’s always trusted to deliver, and the quiet stress and exhaustion you face in doing it all. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, struggling with relationships, or seeking increased fulfillment in your day-to-day, therapy can help you. Your interest in being here is the only requirement to getting started. Our sessions will start where you feel comfortable and move forward in a collaborative process that includes reflection, problem solving, and goal setting.

Our approach to therapy isn’t about stepping off the track. It’s about shifting how you run it. I believe in a dynamic approach to psychotherapy, incorporating traditional techniques with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and real-time skill building. My style is warm, non-judgemental and conversational.

This is your type of therapy if you feel: “If I’m not busy, I’m failing.”; Unfulfilled even while performing at a high level; Constant overthinking and fear of making mistakes; Rest feels uncomfortable or unsafe; A strong outer confidence masking inner self-doubt.

You don’t have to choose between ambition and peace. You can lead, achieve, and still feel grounded with the support of a highly-skilled therapist who truly "gets you".
