Professional statement

June Gordon (she/her) is a psychotherapist based in NYC offering an affirming and client-centered approach to healing the traumas and burdens that so often come with living in today’s world. As an openly transgender clinician, June has experienced working with clients who hold a diverse range of identities across the trans/LGBQ+ spectrum. June specializes in addressing themes of gender and sexual identity, racism, marginalization, kink, non-monogamous relationship structures, and sex work — amongst others. In session, June offers a psychodynamic approach to understanding how trauma, burden, and stress are showing up in client’s lives today.

June is excited to be joining Queer Therapy NYC after having completed her Masters of Social Work at Columbia University this past spring. June previously completed her MSW field placement with Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, providing individual adult psychotherapy.

June is currently accepting new clients for online individual psychotherapy. June offers flexible scheduling (including weekends and evenings) and offers a sliding scale payment option for those who demonstrate financial need.

Message to clients

My therapeutic philosophy is deeply grounded in an affirming and client-centered approach to healing the traumas and burdens that so often come with living in today’s world. I believe in the power of collaborating together to identify and build on pre-existing strengths in order to establish skills for better managing future burden. Put simply, I am in this work right alongside my clients. You are the expert in your own life and my role is to facilitate the process of uncovering the answers that already exist inside you.

I believe passionately that therapy can and should be accessible, inclusive and -- ultimately -- liberatory. I am always happy and willing to work with the financial and scheduling needs of my clients to ensure that these values are manifesting in our work together. If you feel we might be a good therapeutic fit, I welcome you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation via phone or Zoom.
