Karelle Edwards-Perry is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Mental Performance Consultant® who works with athletes, high-achievers, and individuals striving to maintain balance between ambition and mental health. As a five-time Team Canada 100-meter hurdler, she understands firsthand how mental wellness can drive, disrupt or define both performance and overall well-being.
Karelle’s path to this work was shaped by her own experiences navigating injuries, harmful power dynamics, and the “toughen up” culture that often silences athletes’ mental health needs. Her goal is to normalize caring for mental health, not as an afterthought, but as an essential part of growth, healing, and sustainable performance.
Her work sits at the intersection of mental health, identity, and performance. As a biracial Black woman, Karelle is especially passionate about supporting multiracial individuals as they explore evolving identities and understand how those identities influence the way they show up in both performance spaces and daily life.
Clinically, Karelle takes a trauma-informed and integrative approach, grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She believes the past is alive in the present, and she helps clients uncover and address deeper barriers to well-being and self-trust. Her sessions are built around honoring each client’s story, identity, and pace.
Karelle’s style is inquisitive, affirming, and holistic. She creates a space where reflection meets realness, balancing depth with lightness while supporting meaningful, lasting growth aligned with each person’s truth and timeline.
Karelle is accepting new clients. Please message her to book a consultation.
