Professional statement

Katie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who practices social work in both corporate and clinical settings. She brings an eclectic background to her clinical work, inspired by the many life experiences she has had and the fascinating and resilient people she has met along the way.

Katie focuses on supporting adults who may be experiencing anxiety, panic, depression, PTSD, childhood and/or ongoing trauma, medical fear/trauma, dissociation, workplace stress and/or conflict, performance anxiety, communication issues, fear of conflict, uncomfortable body sensations, parenting stress, adoption & foster care issues, and experiences of bias & discrimination.

In addition, Katie has years of experience working with folks around varying aspects of identity including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, differing abilities, body diversity, and socio-economic situation. This is an inclusive and respectful therapeutic space.

Therapeutically, Katie draws heavily from two modalities--Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing. She is IFSI certified from the IFS Institute, and is currently an Intermediate-level student in Somatic Experiencing through Somatic Experiencing International, working toward her certification as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).

Katie also utilizes Trauma Focused CBT, ACT, Flash Technique, Narrative Therapy, Behavioral Activation, and Liberation Health, as well as role playing and drama therapy techniques.

Katie offers a warm, accepting, open, energetic, allied, creative, humorous, and connected space to work together toward your goals.

Katie holds a BA in Theater from Ithaca College, an MBA in Marketing and Organizational Behavior from Boston University's Questrom School of Business, and a MSW in Clinical Social Work from Boston University's School of Social Work. She also holds a certificate in Mediation & Conflict Management from the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.
