Professional statement

Hi, I’m Kerdijra—though you’re welcome to call me Kay or Kayla.
I’m the founder of Counselors Who, and I’m deeply passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and support. I believe that while pain is an inevitable part of life, we don’t have to carry it alone. Therapy can be a space where things feel a little lighter, a little more understandable, and a lot less isolating.
My approach is collaborative and strengths-based. I see you as the expert in your own life, and I bring my clinical perspective to help you find the balance you’re looking for. Together, we’ll focus on identifying your strengths and building on them in a way that helps you move through whatever you’re facing with more confidence and intention.
I strive to create a supportive, honest space where you can show up as you are and feel safe being open about your experiences.

Message to clients

Sometimes it’s not just one big thing, but a collection of small, heavy moments that start to build up over time. You might be carrying stress, uncertainty, or emotions that don’t always have a clear place to go.
Therapy can be a place where you finally get to put some of that down.
In our work together, we won’t rush to “fix” everything. Instead, we’ll make room to understand what you’ve been holding, what’s been working for you, and what hasn’t. From there, we can begin to shift things in a way that feels steady and realistic, not overwhelming.
I see this process as one where you don’t have to perform or have the “right” answers. You just have to show up. I’ll meet you there with openness, curiosity, and support, and we’ll figure the rest out together.
