Professional statement

Kristen Antonio, LMHC, is a therapist in Massachusetts specializing in working with driven, emotionally insightful women navigating anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, and complex relational patterns. Many of her clients are self-reflective, yet find that insight alone hasn’t led to lasting change. Often, different parts of themselves pull in opposing directions: one part striving and pushing forward, another part feeling overwhelmed or self-critical. These internal dynamics sometimes show up physically: a tightness in the chest, a racing heart, a knotted stomach, a shaky voice.

Kristen’s approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS) with somatic, nervous system–informed therapy. She helps women explore the different parts of themselves -- the parts that push, protect, or critique -- while noticing how these patterns manifest in the body. By attending to both mind and body, clients can address anxiety, perfectionism, and relational dynamics at their root, rather than relying on surface-level coping strategies.

Sessions are collaborative, thoughtful, and paced to support mind-body connection, self-compassion, and embodied change. Through this process, clients often experience a greater sense of grounding, confidence, and ease in their everyday lives.

Kristen provides a gentle, nonjudgmental space for women seeking to better understand themselves and shift longstanding patterns. She guides clients toward lasting change with curiosity, empathy, and a steady presence, helping them cultivate more connection, clarity, and balance both internally and in their relationships.

Message to clients

Something in you knows that the way you’ve been holding everything together isn’t fully sustainable.

On the outside, you may appear capable and steady, but inside, there’s a sense of pressure that doesn’t let up and feeling that there is something deeper that needs to be addressed.

I support deeply insightful, emotionally aware women who have done meaningful self-reflection, yet still find themselves stuck in familiar patterns. Often, different parts of you pull in opposing directions: one part striving and pushing forward, another feeling overwhelmed or self-critical. These parts sometimes show up physically as a tight chest, racing heart, or knotted stomach, and can make the whole body feel "on edge."

I use an Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic approach, attending to both your thoughts and how your inner parts manifest in the body. These experiences aren’t random; they’re meaningful signals pointing to patterns your system has developed for a reason.

Rather than overriding these parts, we work to understand them. Together, you can shift anxiety, perfectionism, and relational patterns at their root, moving beyond coping toward lasting, embodied change.

Sessions are collaborative, thoughtful, and paced to support insight, self-compassion, and a greater sense of steadiness. My goal is to create a space where you don’t have to hold everything together, and where all parts of yourself can be seen with curiosity and care.

If you’re ready to cultivate calm, clarity, and connection in daily life, I’d be glad to work with you.

Therapist's note

I intentionally choose to work outside of insurance because I focus on you, not your diagnosis. The insurance system often limits care and prioritizes labels over lasting change. Working outside the system allows us to prioritize your needs, explore patterns deeply, and create meaningful, embodied transformation without compromise. But/And/Also, I acknowledge the systemic oppression that creates economic disparities. Please inquire about my sliding scale if you identify as a marginalized individual.
