Professional statement

Lauren Martin is a Mental Health Associate Counselor (MHC-A) at Silvers Psychology & Wellness in Warwick, Rhode Island. She holds a Master's in Holistic Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Salve Regina University. Lauren works with teenagers and adults (ages 13+) both in-person and remotely, helping clients committed to transformative, lasting well-being. Her goal is to empower individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions.

With experience in outpatient therapy, Lauren is skilled in addressing a broad range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, life transitions, sexuality/sexual dysfunction, and self-esteem. She uses an relational, existential, and holistic approach to counseling. While incorporating a variety of therapeutic techniques, Lauren frequently utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and mindfulness practices. Clients working with Lauren can expect to develop tools for increasing introspection, improving emotional regulation, and cultivating self-compassion and self-care.

In sessions, Lauren walks alongside clients as they make positive changes and discover more joy and presence in their lives. Outside of sessions, she enjoys soaking up nature through hiking, walking, and swimming in the ocean, reading, tending to her collection of plants, and spending time with loved ones.

Message to clients

As humans, we all have patterns of thought and behavior that can get in the way of living the lives we truly desire. Neuroscience research shows that the only way to change how we feel is by becoming aware of our inner experience. This is why I embrace the philosophy that “the unexamined life is not worth living.” Compassionate self-reflection helps us gain insight into ourselves and create meaningful transformation.

Therapy looks different for everyone, but working with me will always be a collaborative process tailored to your needs. If you’re seeking a listening ear, I’ll be that and move at your pace. If you want to make changes and be challenged, I take a naturally directive approach. I don’t believe therapy is about solving all of one’s problems; rather, it’s about learning how to manage them more effectively while fostering personal growth. My goal is to help you discover and cultivate the power within yourself to make lasting changes and enhance your life—mind, body, and soul.
