Lauren is a clinical social worker who uses years of practice and study of mindful, somatic (of the body), narrative, and relational techniques to help her clients overcome challenges and identify barriers to connecting with their authentic selves. Lauren understands how patterns of stress, anxiety, and depression can disrupt internal alignment, make emotions difficult to name, express, or move through, and prevent relationships from functioning or flourishing. She uses her training to help clients identify these blocks and gain internal clarity.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Identity development - Understanding, accepting, and strengthening one’s sense of self through the exploration of family, work, and personal values; addressing issues such as, race, class, gender, and sexual orientation, in the context of self experience
Self-esteem - Cultivating self-compassion, assertiveness, and confidence; developing ways to reduce suffering, anxiety, social withdrawal, and self-neglect
Mind-body connection - Practicing mindfulness to draw together how the body feels physically and how the mind feels mentally; healing both physically and mentally
Values clarification - Exploring one’s values, including their origins and how they impact daily decision-making and behaviors; making life changes according to these values and living a life aligned to one’s values
