Professional statement

Lauren is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with over fifteen years of experience in the mental health field. Her career has spanned group practice, residential programs, inpatient units, and hospice care, giving her a deep and varied perspective on the challenges people face across different stages of life.

She also served as Clinical Director at Rhode Island’s first holistic recovery center, where she specialized in addiction treatment and played a key role in developing its intensive outpatient program. Lauren is fully trained in EMDR through EMDRIA and has completed holistic trainings at Kripalu, which inform her unique integration of traditional evidence-based practices with somatic and mindfulness-based approaches.

Lauren takes an eclectic, client-centered approach, drawing from EMDR, DBT, ERP, and mindfulness. She works with clients navigating trauma, OCD, anxiety, depression, maternal health, body image and eating concerns, and phobias. Central to her work is creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel seen, supported, and empowered to move toward meaningful growth and healing.

Outside of her therapy practice, Lauren is a wife and mother who enjoys time in nature, cooking, and engaging with her community.

Message to clients

Hi there, and welcome—

Starting therapy is a meaningful step, and finding the right fit matters. My approach is collaborative and compassionate: I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you—helping you feel understood, supported, and equipped with tools that truly make a difference.

I specialize in working with trauma, eating disorders, OCD, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I’m fully trained in EMDR, a powerful method for healing from trauma, and I integrate practical strategies from CBT, DBT, and mindfulness to support both immediate relief and deeper, lasting change. I also bring in holistic and somatic practices, drawing from my background as a yoga teacher, to help you reconnect with your body and find balance between mind and body in the healing process.

Clients often describe me as approachable, thoughtful, and easy to connect with. Above all, I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where you can show up as you are, feel truly heard, and begin moving towards growth and healing.
