Leigh brings a unique perspective to her practice – having earned her Masters of Social Work and clinical license in 1986, she worked for decades as the leader of nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and their parents. She works with individuals of all ages who are experiencing depression, anxiety, or stress. She is a specialist in ADHD and enjoys equipping children and adults with the tools they need to manage the practical and emotional challenges it creates.

While the specifics of each client’s experience are tailored to them, Leigh draws most heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Theory and mindfulness. Her focus is on identifying the most practical and durable solutions possible for each client. Her approach is personal, empathetic and humorous.

Leigh works with clients in her office in Durham, NC and virtually.

Message to clients

I want to congratulate you on taking the step of looking for a therapist. Reaching out for help is hard - and you're doing it!

I think the most important thing about therapy is having someone who is able to really listen and help you untangle your thoughts and experiences from a perspective that is caring but removed. It's just too hard sometimes to have perspective on your own life; sometimes we all need help seeing the context around our challenges or the options available to us. There are always ways to make our lives easier and create change.

I offer a free 30-minute video chat or call so we can discuss what you're dealing with and see if we think we're a fit.
