Professional statement

Lena has experience working with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, life transitions, family and relationship dynamics, intimate partner violence, and feelings of isolation or disconnection. She approaches therapy by creating a warm, judgment-free environment where struggles can be shared openly and explored at a pace that feels safe and supportive. Lena works collaboratively with clients to find ways to make the weight of what they’re carrying feel lighter over time.

Her clinical experience is grounded in community-based settings, with a focus on supporting clients during periods of crisis. While completing her Master’s training, she worked at a domestic violence shelter and Bellevue Hospital, supporting individuals navigating stress, trauma, and life transitions. She helps clients emotionally regulate and ease pain and suffering in ways that feel stabilizing and compassionate, while also exploring how early experiences and relational histories shape current emotions and patterns to support healing and meaningful change.

Message to clients

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming. I understand the hesitation, so I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. I have experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, family dynamics, intimate partner violence, and feelings of isolation or disconnection. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin—just a willingness to show up as you are. Therapy doesn’t require the right words or a clear plan; it begins with having a place where your experiences can be shared openly, without judgment or pressure.

Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and begin moving toward your goals. If you’re interested in starting the therapeutic process together or have any questions, I welcome you to reach out.

Specialties

Anxiety - Anxiety is explored as a pattern shaped by earlier emotional and relational experiences, not just symptoms to manage. Treatment integrates insight-oriented work with carefully chosen CBT strategies to help clients reduce avoidance while building a greater sense of safety and agency.

Depression - Depression is approached as a meaningful response to loss, internalized criticism, or long-standing relational patterns. Therapy combines depth-oriented exploration with CBT tools like behavioral activation and routine-building to support movement, motivation, and emotional reconnection at a pace that fits the client.

Loss, grief, and bereavement - Grief is approached as a deeply personal process shaped by attachment, meaning, and past experiences with loss. Therapy offers space to mourn and integrate the loss while using select CBT strategies to support emotional regulation, daily functioning, and gentle re-engagement with life as it unfolds.

Isolation - Isolation is explored in relation to emotional history, attachment patterns, and past experiences of disconnection or protection. Therapy focuses on understanding these patterns while using practical strategies to support gradual reconnection and meaningful social engagement.

Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - PTSD treatment focuses on understanding how past experiences continue to shape emotional responses, relationships, and self-protection. Psychodynamic processing is paired with CBT-informed grounding and exposure techniques to reduce distress while prioritizing safety, pacing, and integration.
