Professional statement

Lindsay Kane, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor in San Antonio specializing in neurodiversity, trauma, IFS, and solution-focused and hope-based approaches. If you are looking to find meaning, hope, and begin authentically living as yourself, you've come to the right place. Lindsay primarily loves to see neurodiverse clients and enjoys working through your traumatic experiences in a way that brings you closer to equilibrium and wellness.

Lindsay's therapeutic approaches include IFS, EMDR, solution-focused approaches, value and hope-based therapy, affirming therapy, and play modalities. Lindsay enjoys helping clients realize that inside of each of us is a core Self that knows how to heal and be present in a loving way, and that the qualities of that awareness already exist within.

Lindsay's initial sessions focus on building this relationship and making sure you can find the comfort and safety you need. With Lindsay, you would work toward your goals together at a pace that is comfortable for you. You can reach out to Lindsay for a personalized and free of charge 15-minute consultation to ask to make sure they are a good fit for you, to ask any questions you might have, and to make sure you feel comfortable with the therapeutic process prior to beginning therapy.

As a neurodivergent and affirming practitioner, Lindsay's practice is entirely virtual, and sessions are offered via telehealth Monday-Friday, and on Sundays based on client need. Lindsay is available for remote sessions throughout the week prior to 1 p.m. and on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Availability is based on client need, therapist availability, and sessions can be offered more than once per week.

Message to clients

My approach for clients is one that is curious, compassionate, and connected. I believe that within each of my clients exists a core that can help them truly accept and know themselves. Prior to starting sessions with me, I would want you to know that I view you as the expert on yourself, and that I trust this core part of you to know what is best for you. While I am a licensed professional counselor, I believe that YOU know yourself and are the expert on your own feelings and experience.

I believe that the relationship between a client and counselor is sacred and built on trust, honesty, and a genuine, authentic connection. In order for you to make progress in therapy, you have to be able to form a good connection with someone you can feel comfortable and safe with.

It can be helpful to have an accompanying guide for your therapeutic journey who values your autonomy and validates your experience, particularly when working on trauma or if you are neurodivergent. My hope for you in therapy with me is that you will be able to achieve an inner state that allows you to access calm, clarity, self-compassion, and the confidence to know that you matter, that your feelings are valid and important, and that you are as whole as you always have been. While we can't change or undo the past, we can certainly become more whole, together.
