Lisa Ellis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Hays, KS who works with teenagers, young adults, and adults who are seeking the support of a warm, experienced therapist. Many of Lisa’s clients experience depression, anxiety, or mood instability, often stemming from life stressors. They might also face relationship conflicts with friends, family members, or partners, which can further exacerbate their mental health challenges. Lisa supports those going through life transitions such as a break up or job loss respecting the emotions that arise in such challenging times. Often, Lisa works with clients who are going through a grief process, whether that’s after a medical diagnosis, caregiving, or after the passing of a loved one. Lisa brings compassionate understanding to the emotional journey of her clients.
In sessions with Lisa, psychoeducation is an important element of healing. Lisa supports clients to learn more about mental health and their own emotions, exploring how their past experiences influence their present day relationships. She practices elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a thoughts-based approach that helps break harmful thought and behavioral patterns. Clients also learn how to practice mindfulness, which can be helpful when identifying distress and implementing coping strategies.
Lisa holds a Master’s degree in Social Work as well as a Clinical Social Work license and centers her practice on compassion, nonjudgment, and authenticity. She provides clients with tools they can use throughout their lives, assisting in understanding how the relationships of the past have a direct correlation to relationship patterns happening now. Lisa listens to whatever the client brings in as their top issue to work on at the time. She is available for in-person sessions as well as telehealth which is facilitated with a HIPAA-complaint platform.
