Professional statement

Marisa Faith Martin is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in Seattle, WA. Her clients are teenagers, young adults, and adults who are seeking empathetic therapeutic support through challenges associated with anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, and trauma. These individuals may be going through major life changes like divorce or separation, moving to a new city, or navigating a career change. These situations bring up high levels of stress or decreased self-esteem, which might also trigger emotional reactions from past traumas.

Marisa is a collaborative therapist who understands the strength it takes for clients to reach out for help. Her work is based in a person-centered, narrative framework, meaning that she sees the challenges as the problem, not the client as the problem. Clients become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, recognizing patterns and the stories behind those patterns. Through narrative therapy, clients explore their unique story, taking control of the direction of the story.

Marisa earned a Master’s degree in Counseling from George Fox University, with a background in arts and education. She is passionate about supporting clients to feel heard, understood, and valued.
