Professional statement

Mark Muse is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing via telehealth across Florida, Oregon, Washington, and Kentucky. He works with adults navigating trauma, PTSD, LGBTQ+ concerns, gender-affirming care, and the kind of stuck feeling that insight alone hasn't resolved.

Mark's work centers on two approaches that reach beyond what traditional talk therapy can access. EMDR — Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing — works directly with how trauma is stored in the nervous system, not just how it's understood intellectually. Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps clients understand the internal patterns and protective parts driving their experience. He draws on both not by formula, but by following what each client's system actually needs.

His approach is adaptive by design. Mark doesn't apply a standard protocol — he starts where the client is, tracks what's working, and shifts when something isn't. That flexibility is often what clients have been missing.

Mark holds a Master of Social Work from Spalding University and has been in practice for over 12 years. He is EMDR certified through the EMDR International Association and licensed in four states. All sessions are conducted via telehealth, with availability Sunday through Wednesday.

Message to clients

Before we start, I want you to know something: I'm not going to hand you a framework and ask you to fit yourself into it. The way I work is built around you — where you are, what your system needs, and what's actually getting in the way.

A lot of people come to me after therapy that helped but didn't finish the job. They have the language, the insight, sometimes years of work behind them — and something still hasn't moved. That's not a personal failing. It usually means the approach hasn't reached the right level yet. EMDR and IFS are tools I use because they go deeper than conversation alone — into the nervous system, into the parts of you that are still protecting against something that may have already passed.

I'll follow your pace. I'm not in a hurry to push you somewhere you're not ready to go, and I'm not attached to any single way of getting there. What I am committed to is staying present and adjusting when something isn't landing.

If you've been wondering whether therapy can actually work for what you're carrying — I'd rather you find out in a free consultation than keep wondering. No pressure, no commitment. Just an honest conversation about whether this feels like the right fit.
