Professional statement

I am a psychoanalytically informed psychotherapist and executive leader based in New York. I work with executives and senior leaders who have built real careers and are encountering ceilings that strategy, coaching, and conventional approaches have not resolved.

I am an Advanced Candidate at the Derner Institute for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and currently serve as Chief of Social Services at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where I direct psychiatric emergency, crisis, and inpatient services across a staff of 50. I have spent nearly three decades as a patient in personal psychoanalysis — not as biography, but as the foundation from which this work is offered.

What I bring is rare: someone who understands from the inside what high-stakes institutional leadership actually costs, and who has the clinical formation to work at the level where those costs originate. Most clinicians have not led institutions. Most executives have not done this depth of personal work. This practice sits at that intersection.

The work is psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy — sustained, depth-oriented, and designed for people who are ready to address what conventional approaches have not reached.

Message to clients

If you have found this page, something in you already knows that what has gotten you here is not what will get you to what comes next. That awareness — however uncomfortable — is not a problem. It is the beginning of the work.

I came to this work through my own. Nearly three decades of personal psychoanalytic experience have shaped not just how I practice but how I understand what genuine change actually requires. It is not insight alone. It is not strategy. It is sustained contact with the parts of yourself that have been operating outside of your awareness — the patterns that built your success and now impose its ceiling.

What I hope for the people I work with is not that they feel better, though that often follows. It is that they become more fully themselves — more available to their own intelligence, their own authority, their own life. That kind of change is possible. It takes time and it takes courage. If you are ready for that, I would welcome the conversation.
