Professional statement

Dr. Meghan Krasnow is a licensed psychologist who specializes in working with athletes, performers, and other high-achieving individuals navigating both mental health concerns and performance-related challenges. She works with adolescents (16+) and adults experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, stress, burnout, life transitions, confidence concerns, injury recovery, and relationship difficulties. Whether clients are striving to perform at their best or simply looking to feel more like themselves again, Dr. Meghan provides a supportive space where they can strengthen both their wellbeing and performance.

Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based care. Dr. Meghan believes that mental health and performance can very much be interconnected and tailors treatment to each client's unique goals and strengths. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, self-compassion, and performance psychology strategies to help clients build resilience, confidence, emotional regulation, and lasting change.

Prior to founding Whole Athlete Sport & Performance Psychology, Dr. Meghan served as the Director of Student-Athlete Wellbeing for the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) Athletics, where she provided counseling, mental performance services, consultation, and outreach to collegiate student-athletes, coaches, and athletic staff. Her training and experience allow her to support clients both in and outside of performance settings.

Dr. Meghan offers in-person therapy in Wilmington, North Carolina, and telehealth services throughout North Carolina and 43 participating PSYPACT states. She welcomes individuals seeking support for mental health, sport and performance concerns, or the intersection of both, with the goal of helping clients thrive in both their personal lives and performance pursuits.

Message to clients

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that you don't have to have everything figured out before we begin. Whether you're navigating anxiety, feeling stuck, recovering from an injury, struggling with confidence, or trying to balance the demands of sport, work, school, or life, my hope is that you'll find our sessions to be a space where you can show up exactly as you are. Together, we'll work to better understand what's getting in the way, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools that help you move toward the life and performance you want.

I believe that meaningful change happens within a strong therapeutic relationship. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique goals—not a one-size-fits-all formula. I'll celebrate your successes, support you through setbacks, and gently challenge you when it helps you grow. My hope is that you leave therapy not only feeling heard and understood, but also with greater confidence, resilience, and trust in your ability to navigate whatever comes next.
