Professional statement

Michael is a therapist helping individuals with the challenges of OCD, PTSD/trauma, anxiety, depression, and more. Recognizing that life is busy enough, Michael offers teletherapy to individuals in Rhode Island and Massachusetts which allows them to easily access effective therapy from your home, office, or wherever is convenient for you, whether in Providence, Boston, or beyond.

Michael uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). He also uses methods of Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness. ERP is particularly effective for treating obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). EMDR is effective for treating trauma as well as many other issues. CBT is effective for a range of issues including anxiety, depression, and life stress.

Michael understands that accessing help for life's difficulties can be daunting. He believes in making the process as smooth as possible. He understands the importance of finding a good therapist that fits your needs and works with you to ensure the therapy approach working for you.

Message to clients

I treat the individual, not the diagnosis. A lot of people have misconceptions about what therapy is or isn't, and I will always welcome and encourage any questions regarding what therapy will entail or concerns about past experiences with therapy.

During our first sessions I will focus on understanding you as an individual and the challenges you are hoping to address. We will work together to find an approach that is effective and best meets your needs.

During the therapy process I encourage you to be open about what is or is not working and if there is anything we can do differently to help you grow. Therapy works best when the work is collaborative. No therapist can "fix" you, but a good therapist can work with you to help you find a path to healthier ways of thinking and feeling. I am ready to be that therapist for you.
